The YooYuumi restaurant is a testament to the creativity of Xiang Li, who drew inspiration from the owner's profession as an actress. The main dining area incorporates the concept of a ballroom, with the arrangement of tables and chairs simulating the form of a ball. The color matching and soft decoration of the space further enhance this theme, creating an environment where children can play within sight of their parents.
What sets YooYuumi apart is its attention to detail and commitment to providing a noble service experience. The front hall, for instance, combines reception, retail, and leisure functions, creating an elegant living room atmosphere with elaborate cabinets and comfortable sofas. The washroom, with its pure and elegant white color scheme, features a European-style door arch that echoes the form of Chinese paper-cutting.
The design of YooYuumi was realized using architectural design techniques. Xiang Li expressed traditional Chinese paper-cutting using Western aesthetic lines, creating a strong spatial sense with arch and linear elements. This approach not only highlighted the three-dimensional sense and enriched the spatial hierarchy but also added artistic exquisiteness and fun to the details.
The project, which covers a floor area of 1000 sqm, was completed in July 2019 in Beijing, China. The design team, led by Xiang Li and including Project Directors Fan Chen and Zhang Wenji, faced the challenge of balancing the aesthetic and usage needs of different people. They aimed to create a space that caters to both parents and children, promoting communication between them and providing a better experience for all.
YooYuumi is more than just a restaurant; it's a place that meets the social needs of different groups of people. The design carefully considers the psychological differences between parents and children, blending colors and cultural elements to create a cozy parent-child restaurant. This innovative approach has earned YooYuumi a Silver A' Design Award, a testament to its outstanding expertise and innovation.
In conclusion, YooYuumi represents a unique fusion of East and West in kids restaurant design. Xiang Li's innovative approach, which balances the aesthetic and usage needs of both parents and children, offers a new perspective on interior design for parent-child spaces. It's a design that not only meets the functional needs of its users but also provides a visually appealing and engaging environment.
